Coen Brother Casting Call to be Held in Greenville

An open casting call for the Paramount Pictures and The Coen Brothers film “True Grit” will be held next Tuesday in Greenville.

The roll is for a 14-year old girl who would play the lead role of, Mattie Ross, in the film. They are looking for a 12-16 year old girl who is tough, strong and “tells it like it is.“

The character is of “Mattie” is described as a 14-year old with steely nerves and a straightforward manner that is a shocking contrast to the way women behaved in the early 1900’s. Her character is tough enough, so that she insists on going with two Marshals to hunt down the killer of her father.

The casting call will be held on December 8 at the Comfort Inn Millenium, located at 2756 Laurens Road, in Greenville, from 3-7pm. The Casting Office from Wilmington, North Carolina, asks that all contestants please bring a current picture and one other family member.
